Steve's pages

Steve, who was born with spina bifida and is permanently in a wheelchair, has been here at Abbotswood for about five years. He recalls that he began to develop a passion for drawing and sketching when he was just four years old when his natural talent was first recognised. Eventually he went on to become a student at the South London College of Art from where he gained Diplomas in Art and in Photography.

You may recognise most of the people featured in his brilliant drawings. Also, as a keen rugby fan he became a match photographer for his local club and took many super action shots for their programs and magazine. He is also a regular at Twickenham games where, because of his disability, he is allowed to park his wheelchair with a super pitch-side vantage point from where he is able to put his camera to good use as will be seen on his photo page.

These-days, when not busy with his drawings, he is also passionately interested in macro-photography of plant and insect life and he spends many hours patiently sitting, with camera ready and focused, waiting for exactly the right moment to take a highly detailed photograph - click on the button below to see some of these.
